IMPACT VIRGINIA

You have heard the rumors...and they are true.  Impact, VA is coming back to Caroline County July 20-26th.  What started out as a small project, has turned into a full-fledged project, and we will have around 130 teenagers and adults from around the state of Virginia descending upon us to help us work on homes that need it in our area.  What can you do to help?

We will need lunches again this year.  This is a great ministry to those working a long hard day in the sun helping our neighbors.  We will be working on 10 home sites in all and 5 days of work, so that is a total of 50 lunches sites!   I have heard from some of you who are able to help, and if your group, Sunday School class, mission organization, personal family, etc. is available to help, please let me know.  As soon as I have a pretty good idea of who is helping, I will asign your group a home that will be as close to your own house (or church) as possible.  If you can only help on one day, for one house,  that is great.  If you group would provide lunches for all 5 days at one home, that would be fantastic as well!  If you can provide 3 days, etc...anything is appreciated!

The lunches need to be nourshing and filling.  Don't skimp on these.  These kids are hungry.  They have been working all day.  Hot lunches are appreciated, but sandwiches work too.  They also seemed to love pizza brought in, with fruit cups and chips.  Also, any homemade desserts were gobbled up.  Please spread the word.  We do not need to limit this to Hermon churches--any group that is willing to help would be appreciated.  This is a great opportunity to do missions right here in our backyard.

If you provide lunches, feel free to stay and visit with the home owner.  Many dear friendships were formed the last time, and the love of Christ was shared.  Let them know we care about them and that we are here all year, every year, willing to help if they need it.

This is our Jerusalem, folks.  Anything you can do would be helpful.  I will also need a few runners (folks who are willing to go back and forth between Home Depot getting last minute supplies that have been "forgotten").    Any money donations will be accepted and we can use that money for supplies for the homes, as well as to help provide the lunches.

The week is Monday-Friday, July 21st-25th.  Mark your calendars.  As you bless those around us--I know that you will be blessed as well.
